Scentia Pod Diffuser — User Manual & Setup Guide

Everything you need to set up, operate, schedule, clean, and troubleshoot your Scentia Pod plug-in cold-air diffuser — from filling your first bottle of oil to pairing the Scentia app.

Scentia Pod plug-in cold-air diffuser plugged into a wall outlet

The Scentia Pod is a compact, plug-in cold-air diffuser that atomizes pure essential oil into a dry micro-mist — no water, no heat, and no residue. It plugs directly into a standard wall outlet, runs quietly, and pairs over Bluetooth with the Scentia app so you can set intensity, timers, and weekly fragrance schedules from your phone.

What’s in the box

  • Scentia Pod diffuser unit (with wall plug)
  • 60 ml refillable oil bottle
  • Bottle cap
  • Product manual

How to set up the Scentia Pod

Setup takes about a minute. Always keep the diffuser upright once oil is added.

Filling the Scentia Pod's refillable amber oil bottle with essential oil

  1. Lift off the diffuser head and bottle. Pull the top section straight up to remove it from the base.
  2. Twist off the bottle. Unscrew the 60 ml oil bottle from the diffuser head.
  3. Fill the bottle with essential oil. Add your Scentia diffuser oil. For the cleanest mist, use a low-viscosity, water-free fragrance oil made for cold-air diffusers (all Scentia oils are formulated for this).
  4. Reassemble. Screw the bottle back onto the diffuser head, tighten firmly, then align the head and press it back down into the base.
  5. Plug in. Insert the Pod into a wall outlet to power it on.

Important: Keep the Scentia Pod vertical at all times once filled. Tilting or laying it flat can cause oil to overflow inside the unit and reduce performance. For a wall outlet, screwing the unit to the wall plate is more secure than relying on the outlet grip alone.

How to use the controls

The Scentia Pod has two buttons — a Mode (timer) button and a Grade (intensity) button — plus an indicator light panel and a confirmation buzzer.

Scentia Pod control panel showing Smart, 6H, 3H, Off timer modes and three intensity levels

Grade (intensity)

Short-press the Grade button to cycle through three mist strengths: G1 Gentle → G2 Moderate → G3 High. Higher grades release more scent and use more oil. To restore factory settings, press and hold the Grade button for 3 seconds (you’ll hear a long beep).

Mode (timer)

Short-press the Mode button to cycle through run modes: 3H → 6H → Smart → Off. The timer runs on a 24-hour cycle:

  • 3H mode: runs for 3 hours, then rests for 21 hours before repeating.
  • 6H mode: runs for 6 hours, then rests for 18 hours before repeating.
  • Smart mode: follows the schedule you set in the Scentia app over Bluetooth.
  • Off: stops diffusion.

Indicator light

Light status What it means
Blue light Diffuser is actively running
Yellow light Standby (resting between timed cycles)
Red light (Off) Diffusion is off
Smart light on Bluetooth connected and working

During non-working periods the indicator stays on to show the active mode and grade. When first powered on, all lights flash briefly, then show the current grade and status.

Buzzer

  • Power on — one beep
  • Grade or Mode short press — one beep
  • Grade long press (factory reset) — one long beep
  • Bluetooth connected — multiple beeps

How to set up the Scentia app

The Scentia app (free on iOS and Android) lets you name your device, schedule fragrance times, and control intensity remotely over Bluetooth.

  1. Download the app. Search “Scentia” in the Apple App Store or Google Play and install it.
  2. Enable Bluetooth and Location. Both must be turned on for your phone to find the diffuser.
  3. Open the app and choose your device. The Scentia Pod will appear on the device selection screen.
  4. Name your diffuser. On the Device Control page, set a device name and room label, then tap Save (top-right).
  5. Add a fragrance schedule. Tap the + icon to create a schedule.
  6. Set the working period. Choose the start and end times the diffuser should run.
  7. Pick intensity and days. Select the grade (G1 Gentle, G2 Moderate, or G3 High) and the days of the week for that schedule.
  8. Save. Tap Save to confirm. You can store up to 5 separate schedules.
  9. Manage schedules. Toggle any schedule on or off on the Device Control page; swipe right to delete one. Set the on-device Mode to Smart for the app schedule to take over.

Intensity & oil consumption

Each grade runs in 15-second bursts with a rest interval between them. Actual oil use varies with the scent and its viscosity.

Grade Work time Rest time Approx. consumption
G1 — Gentle 15 sec 120 sec 0.18 g/hr
G2 — Moderate 15 sec 90 sec 0.24 g/hr
G3 — High 15 sec 60 sec 0.30 g/hr

How to clean the Scentia Pod

Clean the diffuser whenever you switch to a different scent, or if the mist output starts to weaken. Scentia also recommends a cleaning every 1–2 months for regular use.

  1. Lift out the diffuser head and remove the oil bottle.
  2. Fill a larger container with rubbing (isopropyl) alcohol and soak the atomizing head and the bottle for 5–10 minutes.
  3. Let the head and bottle air-dry fully.
  4. Reassemble and add fresh oil.

Switching scents without cleaning is the most common cause of weak or muddy fragrance.

Troubleshooting

The diffuser isn’t producing any mist

  • Check that you selected an active mode (not Off) and that the Pod isn’t in a rest period of its timer cycle.
  • Make sure the Pod is plugged in and the indicator light is on.
  • Confirm the inner tube/straw is connected and not loose.
  • The air pump may be damaged — if so, it will need replacing.

The mist is weak or faint

  • The atomizing core may be clogged — clean it with alcohol or replace the atomizing head.
  • Check that the gasket isn’t damaged, loose, or missing.
  • Make sure the inner tube is connected properly.
  • Increase the intensity grade, and use a low-viscosity oil made for cold-air diffusers.

Oil is leaking or spilling from the unit

  • The bottle may be loose — make sure it is screwed in fully.
  • Check that the gasket in the atomizing head isn’t damaged, loose, or missing.
  • Always keep the Pod vertical to prevent overflow.

The diffuser is spitting or sprinkling oil droplets

  • The atomizing head may be damaged — replace it with a new one.
  • Confirm the unit is upright; a tilted or flat Pod can sprinkle oil.

Abnormal noise

  • The air pump may be loose — retighten it.
  • If the noise continues, the air pump may be damaged and need replacing.

The app won’t connect

  • Make sure both Bluetooth and Location services are enabled on your phone.
  • Keep your phone close to the Pod while pairing.
  • Close and reopen the Scentia app, then reselect your device.
  • If it stays unpaired, hold the Grade button for 3 seconds to factory reset, then pair again.

Please note: Do not modify, disassemble, or repair the Pod yourself, and don’t use it in high-humidity or high-pressure conditions. For any issue not solved above, contact Scentia support at cs@scentiausa.com.

Frequently asked questions

Does the Scentia Pod use water?

No. The Scentia Pod is a waterless cold-air diffuser. It atomizes pure essential oil into a dry micro-mist, so there’s no water to add and no dampness or residue on surfaces.

Does the Scentia Pod need to be plugged in?

Yes. The Pod is a plug-in diffuser that runs on a standard wall outlet (AC 100–240V). It is not battery-powered, so it’s designed to stay plugged in where you want continuous fragrance.

How large an area does the Scentia Pod cover?

The Scentia Pod is rated for spaces up to about 30 m² (roughly 3,100 cubic feet of air volume), making it well suited to bedrooms, bathrooms, offices, and entryways.

What oils can I use in the Scentia Pod?

Use water-free, low-viscosity essential or fragrance oils made for cold-air diffusers. All Scentia diffuser oils are formulated for this system. Avoid thick, carrier-heavy oils, which can clog the atomizing core.

How do I switch between scents without mixing them?

Remove the diffuser head and bottle, soak the atomizing head and bottle in rubbing alcohol for 5–10 minutes, let them dry, then add your new oil. This clears the atomizing core so each scent stays crisp.

How do I reset the Scentia Pod?

Press and hold the Grade button for 3 seconds. You’ll hear a long beep, and the Pod will restore its factory settings.

What do the timer modes mean?

3H runs for 3 hours then rests for 21; 6H runs for 6 hours then rests for 18; Smart follows your app schedule; Off stops diffusion. The timer repeats on a 24-hour cycle.

Can I schedule when the diffuser runs?

Yes. In the Scentia app you can set up to 5 separate schedules, each with its own start time, end time, intensity grade, and days of the week. Set the on-device Mode to Smart for the app schedule to take over.

Why is my Pod not misting?

Check that it’s plugged in, set to an active mode (not Off), and not in a timer rest period. Confirm the bottle and head are tight and the inner tube is connected. If output is weak, clean the atomizing core with alcohol or replace the atomizing head. See the troubleshooting section above for the full checklist.
