Diffuser Care & Maintenance
Keep your Scentia diffuser performing like the day it arrived. Cleaning guides, refill instructions, and troubleshooting for every model — pulled directly from the product manuals.
⚠️
The most important rule across all models: Keep your diffuser upright at all times — during use, storage, and transport. Every Scentia manual states explicitly that tilting or laying the device flat causes fragrance oil to overflow into the circuit board. This can permanently damage the device and is not covered by support.
When to clean your diffuser
Two situations require cleaning, confirmed in all four manuals:
🔄
Switching to a different fragrance oil. Residual oil from the previous scent will mix with the new one. Always flush with alcohol before changing, especially when moving from heavy scents (Noir Mystique, Miami One) to lighter ones (Coastal, Dream Walk).
📉
Atomization volume has become weak. Reduced mist output means the atomizing core is partially blocked with oil residue. An alcohol flush resolves the majority of these cases without any replacement needed.
As general maintenance, the manufacturer recommends cleaning every 1–2 months (Max manual).
How to clean any Scentia diffuser
The cleaning method is identical across all four models. Use isopropyl or industrial alcohol — never water or soap inside the device.
1
Find a clean spare bottle
Use any clean spare bottle — not one with residual fragrance oil. The MiniPod uses 15ml bottles; the Pod uses 60ml; the Max 120ml; the Casa 180ml. Any clean bottle from any model works for cleaning.
2
Fill with industrial or isopropyl alcohol (90%+)
All four manuals specify industrial alcohol. Isopropyl at 90% or above works equally well. Do not use alcohol below 70% — too much water content and will not dissolve oil residue effectively.
3
Attach the bottle and run the diffuser for 3–5 minutes
Screw the alcohol bottle in exactly as you would a fragrance oil bottle. Turn the device on at any intensity grade. Let it run for 3–5 minutes. The alcohol will flush through the atomizing core and nozzle, dissolving the oil residue.
4
Turn off and remove the alcohol bottle
Switch off the device and remove the alcohol bottle. No rinse step needed — residual alcohol in the nozzle evaporates completely within a few minutes.
5
Reattach your fragrance oil and resume
Screw your fragrance bottle back in and power on. The first seconds of mist may carry a faint alcohol note — this dissipates immediately and does not affect the fragrance performance.
✓
Deeper clean for Pod and MiniPod (stubborn blockages): Pull out the atomizer head. Fill a larger container with industrial alcohol and soak the atomizer head and bottle for 5–10 minutes. Allow both to air dry fully before reassembling. This is stated specifically in the Pod and MiniPod manuals.

Intensity grades & oil consumption
All models use a grade system to control scent intensity and oil consumption. Data below is from the product manuals — actual consumption varies by oil viscosity and ambient temperature.
180ml bottle. Up to 10 grades + Custom via app. Optimal temp: 25°C
Casa
G2 Moderate
30s on / 40s off
reference only
Casa
G3 High
50s on / 60s off
reference only
Casa
G4 Intense
150s on / 15s off
reference only
💡
For best diffusion: Use fragrance oils with a viscosity below 30 mPa.s — this includes all Scentia fragrance oils. Optimal operating temperature is 25°C / 77°F. All figures above are reference values from the manuals; actual consumption varies with oil type.

Troubleshooting
Try the steps below before contacting support. Most issues are resolved by the alcohol cleaning cycle or by checking the items in this table — sourced directly from all four manuals.
Problem
Check first
If unresolved
💨 No diffusion
Check whether the device is in a working period — it will not diffuse outside scheduled times. Check the oil bottle is screwed in correctly.
Run the alcohol cleaning cycle. Check whether the air pump is damaged. Check the tube inside is not loose. Contact support if pump appears damaged.
📉 Weak diffusion
Atomizing core is likely blocked with oil residue. Run the full alcohol cleaning cycle (3–5 minutes). This resolves the majority of cases.
Soak atomizer head in alcohol for 5–10 minutes then air dry (Pod/MiniPod). Check gasket is not damaged or loose. If still weak, atomizing core may need replacement.
💧 Oil leakage
Check the oil bottle is screwed in straight and firmly. Check the device is fully upright — even slight tilting causes leaks.
Check the seal gasket is intact and not broken or missing. Replace with the seal supplied with the device. Check the pump is not loose.
💦 Oil sprinkle
The atomized head may be damaged — replace it. Ensure the device is completely upright.
Check the gasket in the atomized head is not damaged. Contact cs@scentiausa.com for replacement parts.
🔊 Abnormal sound
Check the oil bottle is not loose — tighten it. Check the air pump is not loose — tighten if possible.
If the air pump is damaged after tightening, it may need replacing. Contact support.
📺 No screen display (Casa)
Confirm power is on and connected. Try a different power outlet. Check if the screen is in lock mode — hold SET for 3 seconds to unlock.
Restart the machine. If the display is garbled or damaged, contact support.
📶 App won't connect
Both Bluetooth AND location services must be enabled on your phone. Bluetooth alone is not sufficient — this is explicitly stated in all app-compatible models.
Search "Scentia" in Google Play or the App Store and update to the current version. Re-pair from the app home screen.
Common questions
Fill a clean spare bottle with industrial or isopropyl alcohol (90%+). Attach it to the diffuser exactly as a fragrance bottle. Turn on and run for 3–5 minutes. Turn off and swap back to your fragrance oil. For Pod and MiniPod, you can also soak the atomizer head and bottle in a container of alcohol for 5–10 minutes, then allow both to air dry before reassembling. Never use water or soap inside any model.
Every 1–2 months as general maintenance. Always clean when switching to a different fragrance oil. Also clean whenever atomization volume drops — this is almost always a blocked atomizing core and is resolved by the alcohol cleaning cycle.
First check whether the device is inside a scheduled working period — it will not diffuse outside scheduled times even if it appears to be on. On the Casa, the atomization icon may show on screen while outside a working period. If it is in a working period: check the oil bottle is screwed in correctly, run the alcohol cleaning cycle, and check the tube inside is not loose. If still not diffusing, the air pump may be damaged — contact cs@scentiausa.com.
No — this applies to all four models. Every Scentia manual states explicitly that tilting or laying the device flat causes fragrance oil to overflow into the circuit board. This can permanently damage the device. Always store and transport with the oil bottle removed, and keep the device upright at all times.
MiniPod: Long press the ON/OFF button for 3 seconds. Pod: Long press the Grade button for 3 seconds (resets factory settings; long press 3s on Grade also resets password). Max: Long press the ON/OFF button for 5 seconds — this resets levels, programs, and password. Casa: Hold the ENT button for approximately 5 seconds until a beep confirms the reset.
The most common cause: only Bluetooth is enabled but not location services. All three app-compatible models (Pod, Max, Casa) require both Bluetooth AND location services to be enabled on your phone to detect the device. Enable location services, close the app, reopen it, and try pairing again. Also check you have the current version of the Scentia app — search "Scentia" in Google Play or the App Store.
MiniPod (15ml bottle): approximately 50 days at G1, 20 days at G2, 10 days at G3 — based on 8 hours per day use at 25°C. Pod (60ml) and Max (120ml) consumption varies by grade and oil viscosity. All figures are reference values from the manuals. Running the diffuser at G1 on a 30-second on / 90-second off cycle (industry standard hotel setting) gives the longest bottle life at any coverage level.
