Safety & Use

Made in the USA. Enjoy with thoughtful care.

Scentia fragrance oils are made in the USA for ambient scenting with compatible diffusers. A few thoughtful habits help you enjoy your fragrance responsibly. Individual sensitivities vary among people and pets; follow the guidelines below and your diffuser's instructions.

Everyday scenting habits

  • Fresh air: Use in well-ventilated spaces. Avoid closed or poorly ventilated rooms and small enclosed spaces.
  • Take breaks: Use intermittent settings and avoid prolonged or continuous operation. Choose a subtle scent level and stop use if the fragrance feels overpowering. A timer or automatic shut-off is a device feature, not a guarantee of a safe exposure time.
  • Mindful placement: Avoid close proximity and direct exposure to the mist. Keep the diffuser away from beds, seating, pet resting and feeding areas, and cages. Position it upright where it cannot be knocked over.
  • Keep out of reach: Store oils securely and keep oils and devices out of reach of children and pets. Do not ingest oils or apply them to skin, fur, feathers, bedding, or collars. Clean spills promptly and follow the product's handling instructions.

Homes with children and pets

Children: Supervise children around the device. Avoid placing or running a diffuser near a child's bed or directing mist toward them. For a child with asthma, allergies, or fragrance sensitivity, seek advice from their healthcare professional before use.

Cats and dogs: Consult your veterinarian before use, especially for cats, animals with respiratory conditions, or other health concerns. Keep pets out of the room while diffusing and provide an unscented area. Prevent access to the device, concentrated oil, and spills. Distance, low intensity, and ventilation do not guarantee suitability for every animal.

Birds: Avoid diffuser use in homes with birds because of their sensitive respiratory systems.

Other pets: Ask your veterinarian before using fragrance around rabbits, small mammals, reptiles, or other animals.

Personal sensitivities

People and animals can respond differently to fragrance. If you have asthma, allergies, or a known fragrance sensitivity, consult an appropriate healthcare professional before use. Stop use and move away from exposure if irritation or discomfort occurs. If a person or pet shows signs of illness, seek medical or veterinary advice promptly. Breathing difficulty, suspected ingestion, or direct oil exposure calls for immediate professional advice.

Fragrance standards and documentation

We maintain supplier-issued IFRA conformity documentation, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and applicable regulatory documentation for individual fragrance formulations. IFRA conformity relates to a specified application and concentration; it is not a pet-safety certification or a guarantee that a fragrance suits every household. An SDS provides handling and hazard information and does not replace an assessment of a particular use.

These general guidelines do not establish a universally safe distance, runtime, or scent for all people and pets. Always follow the product label, your device's instructions, and advice appropriate to your household.
